The Community of Kings Grant started to be developed in
1974 in an environmentally sensitive way. Today, the Community
of Kings Grant consists of 2512 homes and is a mix of Single
Family, Townhouses, and Condominiums all mostly on wooded
and lakefront lots. Since the community is located in a
State of New Jersey Wetlands protected area in what’s
commonly known as the "Pinelands" the community
adheres to strict conformance of protecting all areas in
an environmental way to insure its preservation. Nearly
one third of all acreage in Kings Grant is Open Space undeveloped
which is under the jurisdiction of the Kings Grant Open
Space Association in perpetuity.

The Kings Grant maintains a host of recreational facilities
including: Community Building available for rent; tennis
courts; basketball courts; softball field; street hockey
rink; volley ball courts; eight tot lots; nature trails;
biking paths; bathing beach on Lake James; boating and fishing
on the lake systems; Swim Club.
Additionally, "The Links " golf course abuts
the community and Richard Rice elementary school is located
within Kings Grant.
